Exceptional Hospitality Starts with You Picture yourself brightening someone’s day. When you join our Hotels team, that’s exactly what you’ll do every time you come to work! You will lead the sales team and ensure that the hotel’s revenue targets are met. This role involves developing and implementing sales strategies, building relationships with key clients, and overseeing the daily operations of the sales department. As a Director of Sales / Assistant Director of Sales, you’re not just driving revenue growth across all hotel segments – you’re spreading the light and warmth of hospitality by delivering memorable experiences that make the stay for every guest.

Here’s what you’ll do during a typical day: Commercial Strategy & Revenue Generation

• Drive the promotion and sale of all hotel event-related products and services, including meetings, conferences, banquets, weddings, catering, and guestrooms.

• Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to maximize hotel revenue and achieve annual sales targets.

• Lead and manage the Group, Meetings & Events (GM&E) Conversion Team to deliver departmental objectives and budgeted revenue goals.

• Set individual and team sales targets, monitor performance, and conduct regular sales reviews to ensure achievement of objectives.

• Analyze sales performance, market trends, customer output, and business opportunities, adjusting strategies as required to maximize results.

• Forecast group, meetings, events, and banquet revenue accurately and contribute to annual budgeting, forecasting, and market planning processes.

Business Development & Customer Relationship Management

• Develop, maintain, and grow relationships with key customers, convention organizers, conference service companies, travel agents, and Hilton Worldwide Sales Office (HWS).

• Identify, pursue, and convert business opportunities through proactive sales activities, including client visits, calls, networking, and presentations.

• Maintain a strong understanding of customer needs, market dynamics, and competitor activities to drive business growth.

• Welcome and engage key customers, VIPs, and event organizers during their hotel visits and events.

Sales Operations & Commercial Excellence

• Oversee the sales process, ensuring timely preparation of quotations, contracts, event documentation, and customer follow-up.

• Ensure effective coordination between the GM&E Conversion Team and operational departments to deliver seamless events and exceptional guest experiences.

• Collaborate closely with Revenue Management, National Sales Office (NSO) and National Marketing Office (NMO) to optimize hotel performance and profitability.

• Ensure timely communication of event and banquet requirements to relevant departments.

Team Management & Development

• Lead, coach, and develop the GM&E Conversion Team, ensuring clear accountability for individual responsibilities and performance goals.

• Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback, coaching, and professional development opportunities.

• Deliver training programs to enhance product knowledge, sales effectiveness, customer engagement, and operational processes.

• Foster a high-performance culture focused on collaboration, customer service excellence, and revenue achievement.

Communication & Market Intelligence

• Participate in key commercial and operational meetings, including sales reviews, revenue meetings, forecasting sessions, and business planning discussions.

• Gather, analyze, and share market intelligence, competitor information, and industry trends to support informed business decisions and strategic planning.

• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of hotel products, services, and competitor offerings to strengthen the hotel's market position.

• Degree qualifications in Business Management or equivalent. • At least 5 years of experience in managing a hospitality proactive sales role preferred. • Minimum 5+ years in a revenue-generating or commercial role within hospitality or travel. • Proven experience managing and developing high-performing sales or commercial teams. • Skilled in creating and presenting sales strategies to senior executives and stakeholder groups. • Proficient in analyzing departmental financial data to inform strategic decisions. • Demonstrated ability to identify and capitalize on new business opportunities. • Experience working in matrixed environments across departments. • Experience in multi-complex hotel or travel operations. • Technical Proficiency in hotel management software (e.g., Delphi, Salesforce, OnQ, Market Planner Survey systems) is a plus.
