• Gather, profile, clean, analyse and interpret large operational, financial and performance datasets to produce reliable business insight. • Design, build, maintain and optimise Power BI reports, dashboards, analytical views and ad hoc exception reports. • Use Power Query and DAX to create controlled transformations, calculations, measures and analytical logic. • Develop governed Excel reporting solutions using Power Query, PivotTables, structured formulas, data validation, data models, visuals and appropriate automation. • Build reports that clearly communicate trends, exceptions, performance drivers, risks and required decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders. • Conduct financial analysis to support budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis. • Configure and support Power BI Service publishing, workspaces and scheduled refreshes where access and licensing permit. • Test reporting solutions against agreed requirements, optimise performance and maintain appropriate release, change and version records.
Business Insights & Recommendations:
• Work with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into clear data, reporting, metric and functional requirements. • Present findings and actionable recommendations through live reporting, written outputs and stakeholder engagements. • Track and measure the effectiveness of business initiatives through structured performance analysis. • Identify operational trends, exceptions, root causes and improvement opportunities, and explain the implications for decision-making
Data Modelling, Data flow, and Forecasting:
• Identify suitable source systems, database tables, APIs, files and business-owned datasets for each reporting solution. • Evaluate source-data structure, completeness, lineage, granularity and suitability before production use. • Write and maintain SQL queries to extract, join, filter, aggregate and validate operational data from relational databases. • Integrate data from databases, APIs, Excel workbooks, CSV files, third-party systems and manually supplied sources. • Design & maintain repeatable ETL/ELT processes using SQL, Python, Power Query or other approved tools. • Clean, standardize, map and reshape data for analytical use, with appropriate validation, logging, exception handling and failure notification. • Automate recurring data preparation, report generation and approved distribution where this provides measurable business value. • Troubleshoot failed refreshes, schema changes, unavailable sources, mapping issues and broken transformation logic. • Design and maintain fact tables, dimension tables, lookup and mapping tables, keys, relationships, hierarchies and reusable measures. • Define model grain, relationships, filter behavior and calculation logic, and maintain controlled Power BI semantic models. • Separate source data, transformation logic, business rules and presentation logic were practical, and resolved duplicated or conflicting metric definitions. • Develop and optimize data flows for forecasting, trend analysis, scenario planning and accessible ad hoc reporting. • Establish checks for completeness, accuracy, duplicates, mapping integrity, expected ranges and period consistency; reconcile outputs to approved source or control totals. • Investigate discrepancies across source capture, extraction, mapping, transformation, calculation and presentation, and document known limitations and their impact. • Escalate recurring data-quality issues to the responsible data owner and retain evidence of material testing and reconciliation for critical reports. • Support approved warehouse, data-mart, lakehouse or layered data patterns were appropriate
Stakeholder Management:
• Partner with Operations, Finance, Sales, F&B, Fleet, Procurement, HR-related data owners, IT, BET Software and relevant external providers to deliver analytical support and fit-for-purpose reporting. • Facilitate workshops and meetings with operational leaders, report consumers, subject-matter experts and data owners to define the business problem, decision requirement, audience, cadence, measures, filters, exceptions and acceptance criteria. • Work with source-system owners and technical teams to obtain approved data access and resolve availability or dependency issues. • Confirm data ownership, report ownership and decision ownership for material reporting solutions. • Communicate delivery status, dependencies, risks, priorities, technical constraints and data limitations in clear business language. • Manage expectations regarding scope, data availability and delivery sequencing, and constructively challenge requests where an existing, simplified or differently scheduled solution would meet the need. • Present technical findings and recommendations effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.
Process Improvement:
• Review business and reporting workflows to identify unnecessary manual activity, duplication, fragile processes and avoidable delays. • Recommend and implement approved improvements based on business benefit, control, sustainability and effort. • Standardize recurring reporting where this improves trust, usability, efficiency or continuity. • Create reusable datasets, models, measures and reporting components, and introduce appropriate automation through Excel, Power BI, Python or other approved tools. • Measure improvement through reduced preparation effort, fewer failures, improved accuracy or clearer business use. • Protect business-critical reporting continuity while approved changes are implemented.
