As a Staff Accountant, Corporate Accounting, you will play a key role in supporting the accuracy, integrity, and scalability of WHOOP's financial operations. You will support critical areas of the month-end close process, including fixed assets, accruals, prepaid expenses, expense management, and balance sheet reconciliations. This role offers broad exposure across the organization through partnerships with Marketing, Manufacturing, Legal, Operations, R&D, and Finance teams. This role is based in Boston, MA. Candidates must be willing to relocate, if necessary, to work from our Boston office.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support the month-end close process through the preparation of journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and monthly fluctuation analyses, helping ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial results.
Support the monthly marketing accrual process by gathering inputs from Marketing stakeholders and preparing accrual calculations related to campaigns, agency relationships, and partnerships with high-profile athletes, influencers, and brand ambassadors.
Maintain fixed asset accounting, including recording asset additions, placements, transfers, disposals, and monthly depreciation, partnering with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and R&D teams to support capital expenditure initiatives.
Prepare prepaid expense schedules and monthly amortization entries, reviewing vendor contracts and invoices to help ensure costs are recorded over the appropriate benefit period.
Support company-wide expense management processes, helping ensure accurate reporting, policy compliance, and scalable controls.
Support annual audits and quarterly reviews by preparing schedules and supporting documentation and assisting with responses to auditor inquiries.
Contribute to process improvement and finance transformation initiatives by supporting system implementations, documenting standard operating procedures, and leveraging automation and AI-driven solutions to enhance efficiency.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
1-3 years of accounting experience; public accounting experience is a plus
Foundational understanding of U.S. GAAP and core accounting principles.
CPA candidacy or interest in pursuing the CPA is a plus.
Strong Excel skills, with comfort working with large datasets.
Experience with NetSuite, Oracle, or a comparable ERP system is a plus.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with intellectual curiosity and a willingness to ask questions and learn.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and motivated by continuous improvement and process optimization.

The U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $60,000 -$90,000. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within each range, individual pay is based on factors such as job-related skills, experience, performance, and relevant education or training.
In addition to the base salary, the successful candidate will also receive benefits and a generous equity package.
These ranges may be modified in the future to reflect evolving market conditions and organizational needs. While most offers will typically fall toward the starting point of the range, total compensation will depend on the candidate's specific qualifications, expertise, and alignment with the role's requirements.
