About this role

Job summary

Acute Medicine QEH are looking for an organised and detail-focused GPRU Co-ordinator to join the team. This is a Band 3 permanent post and will be based at QEH. The post holder will be required to work Monday to Friday, 10:00 to 18:00 (subject to service hours).

The post holder will play a key role in supporting the GP Receiving Unit and wider Acute Medicine services by accurately inputting and validating confidential patient data across multiple Trust systems. Using a range of data sources and analytical tools, you will help produce timely reports on key performance indicators - including length of stay, triage and clinical assessment times, and discharge targets - to support clinical and operational decision-making.

Alongside data entry and analysis, the role covers a broad range of administrative duties for the Acute Medicine Directorate, including maintaining accurate patient records, supporting data quality improvement activities, liaising with clinical staff and managers on data trends, and providing ad-hoc administrative support as required.

The ideal candidate will have strong Microsoft Office skills (particularly Excel), a proven track record of accuracy and attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines while working confidently under their own initiative.

Main duties of the job

Accurately input confidential patient data into relevant systems in a timely manner, validating data across multiple Trust systems and data sources within strict time constraints.

Prepare daily and monthly reports for Acute Medicine services, including the GP Receiving Unit, covering KPIs such as 1-hour length of stay, time to MSDEC transfer, time to AMU admission, time to discharge, 15-minute triage and 30-minute clinical assessment targets.

Analyse complex information and data trends, producing reports and visualisations to support departmental and clinical decision-making.

Liaise with clinical staff & managers to feed back data trends and support improved staff/team performance.

Ensure data completeness, accuracy and compliance with data quality standards, identifying and correcting errors in data sets.

Assist with data collection, extraction, analysis and validation to support data quality improvement activity, under the guidance of the Service Manager and Operational/Clinical Leads.

Organise and maintain manual and electronic records, ensuring patient notes are correctly scanned and confidentiality is maintained at all times.

Maintain auditable information resources relating to data quality and keep records of completed data collection & audits.

Support the development of action plans to address data quality findings in conjunction with staff

Assist in the maintenance of electronic notes systems and attend meetings relevant to data quality

Provide ad-hoc administrative support

Qualifications Essential

*Good General Education (e.g. GCSE English and Maths A-C GCSE LEVEL 9-4 *Business Administration NVQ level 3 or equivalent experience in an administrative environment

Desirable

*Working knowledge of medical terminology

Experience Essential

*High level of competence in Microsoft Office programmes, including Excel. Word, PowerPoint, Access etc. *Excellent track record in accuracy. *Familiar with basic data manipulation including identification, accessing and downloading of data, design set up and development of data entry systems

Desirable

*Advanced Excel skills. *Some knowledge of medical terms to aid in understanding clinical processes and the recording of precise information.
