About this role

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust for an experienced band 5 or existing band 6 physiotherapist to develop their skills and knowledge within the speciality of Pelvic, Obstetric and Gynaecological Physiotherapy within a supportive team.

The pelvic health physiotherapy service is based at Homerton Hospital with a responsibility to provide inpatient and outpatient services, community clinics and group exercise and advice sessions. The service has close links with gynaecology, urology, colorectal and sexual health consultants, midwives, specialist nurses and GP services. The service is led by the pelvic health physiotherapy team lead and the wider Outpatient therapies lead. The Pelvic health team consists of a Band 7 lead and two rotational staff members, a static Band 6 member in addition to the role advertised.

Pelvic Health experience would be advantageous but an MSK physiotherapist with enthusiasm and drive to develop within the speciality of Pelvic, Obstetric and Gynaecological Physiotherapy would be considered. Potential funding is available for courses specific to development into this area. You will be encouraged and supported to develop your clinical, teaching and managerial skills and be actively involved in service development.

Provide specialised physiotherapy management for a range of perinatal conditions Participate in the appraisal, clinical supervision and continuous professional development of junior staff, physiotherapy assistants and students Participate in ongoing service development and evaluation Practice in a diverse cultural and socioeconomic locality

Degree in Physiotherapy HCPC

Relevant post graduate courses/training/CPD Member of relevant special interest group

Knowledge Essential

Knowledge/understanding of confidentiality issues Knowledge of physiotherapy best practise for a range of Pelvic, Obstetric and Gynaecological Physiotherapy conditions Awareness of clinical audit and evidence-based practice.
