About this role

Job summary

Join Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust (CLCH) as part of our Commercial Team and help support services that make a difference to patients and communities.

This is an opportunity to manage a varied contracting portfolio supporting our Inner London Division. Contracts may range in value from approximately £10,000 to £10 million, with each playing an important role in delivering high-quality services.

You will provide commercial and contractual expertise across clinical service agreements, subcontracts and partnership arrangements. Working closely with operational colleagues and the wider Commercial Team, you will help ensure contracts are commercially viable, well managed and aligned with good public sector and NHScontracting practice.

This is a fast-paced and varied role where priorities may change. We are looking for someone who can organise their workload, communicate effectively and build positive working relationships across teams. If you haveproven experience of NHS, local authority or other public sector contracts and are seekingto broaden your commercial experience, we would welcome your application.

We are particularly interested in candidates who can bring relevant expertise from day one, quickly build effective relationships and make an immediate impact within the team.

Main duties of the job

You will manage a portfolio of contracts for the Inner London Division, providing commercial and contractual advice throughout the contract lifecycle.

Key responsibilities include:

Managing clinical service agreements, subcontracts and partnership arrangements.

Supporting business and service development, including tenders, new business opportunities and business cases.

Supporting contract negotiations in close cooperation and advice from the Head of Contracts,ensuring appropriate contractual arrangements are in place.

End to End contract management

Assessing and managing commercial and contractual risk while maximising value and minimising risk to the organisation.

Supporting compliance with procurement governance requirements.

Maintaining accurate contract registers and electronic records in partnership with the Assistant Commercial Manager.

Producing clear and timely reports and updates for colleagues and senior stakeholders.

Attending contract, team and divisional meetings as required.

Working collaboratively with operational divisions and the Corporate Commercial Team.

Supporting training and development activities and sharing commercial knowledge where appropriate.

Due to the fixed-term timescale of this post, you will work with colleagues to prioritise activity where it can deliver the greatest benefit and impact.

Person Specification

Education/Qualification Essential

Educated to Masters level, or equivalent experience, with relevant commercial and contracting experience Portfolio / evidence of ongoing professional development, professional qualifications and experience e.g. project management, leadership, contract law.

Desirable

Legal degree or legal qualification Commercial or Business qualification

Experience Essential

Knowledge and experience of both NHS and Local Authority contracting and performance management Experience in effective contract negotiations Drafting and reviewing contracts, SLAs and partnership agreements Acting as a subject matter expert and clearly defining issues and describing contractual situations in 'lay mans' terms

Skills & Knowledge Essential

Strong relationship building and communication skills, with ability to work within a complex multi professional environment effectively Ability to produce clear and concise reports High level of interpersonal, influencing and negotiating skills Ability to work autonomously within a complex organization, managing own workload.
