Newmont Suriname was established in 2004 as an entity of Newmont Mining Corporation and is headquartered in Paramaribo, Suriname. Located in South America, Suriname was originally settled as a Dutch colony, is very culturally diverse and enjoys a tropical climate. The Merian Project is located approximately 60 km south of Moengo in a largely undeveloped part of the country with the nearest permanent settlement, Langa Tabiki, approximately 17 km east from the Project site. Strong support from host communities and the government of Suriname strengthen Merian's ability to deliver safe, profitable production with significant upside potential and opportunity for employees, host communities and shareholders. Dimensions 

Purpose 
 Supervise daily activities to ensure operational efficiency, safety, and alignment with production targets, undertaking shift planning, coordinating resources, and driving continuous improvement in asset utilization and operational practices.

Essential Duties 

• Administer shift planning work to ensure effective allocation of crew and resources to complete tasks according to plan. Undertake unplanned jobs and make adjustments to enable the shift to meet operational targets, • Support daily building and infrastructure operations, maintenance planning, and monitor equipment availability to ensure alignment with project schedules and safety standards. Compile and deliver reports on operational performance and progress to team members. • Coordinate resources, including vendors and contractor personnel and equipment to ensure service quality and cost control. • Review compliance with safety, environmental, and operational policies and procedures and report any non-conformance to Superintendent • Offer coaching and mentorship to team members to enhance their performance and development. Handle coverage for Superintendent during absences • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address operational challenges and enhance workflows • Perform inspections and audits to ensure equipment and processes are in optimal condition • Provide expertise to support business improvement projects and internal initiatives • Support the implementation of new technologies and best practices in building and infrastructure operations. • Coordinate administrative tasks, including documentation, budgeting, and SAP notifications

Training & Experience 
 Knowledge:

• Minimum Bachelors degree in relevant fields: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mine Engineering, Civil Engineering or related discipline • Professional technical certification in relevant field. • Knowledge of NPI, mining, mineral processing or powerplant operations • Knowledge of production planning principles, maintenance strategies (preventive and predictive), and work order management • Knowledge of contract administration, procurement procedures, and performance management of external service providers Technical skills:

• In-depth understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental regulations and standards • Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies • Proficiency in workforce planning tools • Ability to analyze production data and identify performance gaps • Competency in conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, and audits • Understanding of maintenance planning cycles • Proficiency in SAP or similar systems for notifications, budgeting, and inventory control
