Triage Pharmacy TechnicianJob DescriptionThe Triage Pharmacy Technician plays a key role in supporting pharmacy operations by filling prescriptions, reviewing health insurance and prescription orders, and assisting customers both in person and over the phone. This position requires strong customer service skills, proficiency with electronic pharmacy systems, and the ability to accurately update patient information while troubleshooting issues that arise during the data entry and order fulfillment process.Responsibilities
• Fill prescriptions accurately and in accordance with established pharmacy procedures and regulations. • Review health insurance and prescription orders to ensure completeness and accuracy before processing. • Respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries in person and over the phone. • Process STAT orders efficiently to support urgent patient needs. • Verify that all required information is complete and correct on each prescription prior to data entry. • Communicate with facilities to inform them of any issues or discrepancies identified during the data entry process. • Update patient profiles with all necessary information from prescriptions, ensuring allergies, therapies, and current medications are accurately recorded. • Assist with locating lost or missed orders upon request and ensure timely resolution. • Answer inbound phone calls from facilities and provide clear, helpful support. • Use pharmacy computer systems to enter, review, and track prescription data and order status. • Collaborate with pharmacy team members to ensure smooth workflow and high-quality service. • Apply effective problem-solving skills to resolve customer and facility concerns and prevent recurring issues. Essential Skills
• Pharmacy Technician experience with 2 or more years in a pharmacy setting. • Demonstrated proficiency in general pharmacy technician duties, including filling prescriptions and handling prescription orders. • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with patients and facility staff. • Experience supporting customers over the phone, including handling inbound calls and providing troubleshooting assistance. • Proficiency with electronic pharmacy programs and computer systems used for data entry and order management. • Ability to verify prescription information and maintain accurate patient profiles, including allergies, therapies, and current medications. • Solid problem-solving abilities with a solutions-oriented mindset. • Attention to detail and accuracy in processing STAT orders and routine prescriptions. • Capability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and compliance. • WI Pharmacy Technician License Work EnvironmentThis is an on-site position in a long term care pharmacy environment, not a remote role. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with one Saturday per month from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. In addition, the role includes one evening shift per week 11:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The work involves regular use of electronic pharmacy programs, computer systems, phones, and other typical pharmacy equipment. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Green Bay, WI. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
