Midnight shift CNC process engineer. Core hours are 11pm to 7am but engineer will be working on average 50+hrs per week, paid overtime after 40hrs at 1.5.DescriptionIndividual to provide Process Engineering support for Engine Machine Shop. Requires technical and process ownership necessary to meet daily and future production demands. Direct interface with machining supervisors and production operators diagnosing, correcting, and enhancing block machining processesJOB FUNCTIONS Block Production Process Support - Technical Diagnosis of daily Machining process issues Interface with Tooling Engineers Over-see process changes due to product changes Block Production Process Support – Development CNC program maintenance and documentation Assist with tool development Development of Standardized Work Instructions (SWI) Process Improvements Implement machine changes due to product changes Cycle Time reductions TOS Specialist (Lean Manufacturing Principals) Prisma Data Analysis/CorrelationOccasional SupervisionProblem Solver KPI AnalyzerConstant Search for ImprovementTechnical Coach for Supervisors and Machine OperatorsBlock machining process driver/interface to all internal organizationsKeep current of technological developments in the industryEnsure engineering practices comply with government regulations and safety standards.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Livonia, MI. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $50.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
