About this role

Job Title: Vehicle Integration & Test TechnicianJob DescriptionAs a Vehicle Integration & Test Technician, you will be responsible for operating and driving instrumented test vehicles on various terrains, including public roads, proving grounds, and test tracks. You will execute defined data collection routes and test procedures, ensuring the successful recording of vehicle and sensor data. This role involves performing pre-drive and post-drive vehicle inspections, supporting vehicle readiness activities, and assisting in test event execution. Responsibilities • Operate and drive instrumented test vehicles on public roads, proving grounds, and test tracks. • Execute defined data collection routes and test procedures. • Perform pre-drive and post-drive vehicle inspections. • Verify successful recording of vehicle and sensor data. • Support vehicle readiness activities and test event execution. • Perform basic troubleshooting of data logging systems and associated equipment. • Verify logger health, power-up sequences, storage availability, and communication status. • Check CAN, Ethernet, GPS, cameras, lidar, radar, and other vehicle interfaces for proper operation. • Diagnose and escalate hardware, software, or communication issues when necessary. • Assist engineers with installation and integration of Loggers, Cameras, GPS/DGPS systems, Ethernet devices, CAN interfaces, Gateways, Reference sensors, Wiring harnesses. • Support vehicle build-up, hardware mounting, cable routing, and component replacement. • Verify proper installation and functionality of test equipment, maintain vehicle configuration documentation and checklists. • Perform system startup/shutdown verification, execute basic electrical and connectivity checks. • Assist with vehicle troubleshooting during test events, support calibration activities and validation drives. • Help maintain fleet readiness, equipment inventory, and test vehicle cleanliness. Essential Skills • Associate degree in Automotive Technology, Electronics Technology, Mechanical Technology, or equivalent hands-on experience. • 2+ years of experience in automotive testing, vehicle integration, prototype vehicles, fleet operations, or related fields. • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record, comfortable driving development and prototype vehicles for extended periods. • CAN communication, Ethernet networking, Vehicle electronics, Automotive sensors, Data logging systems, Multimeter, Diagnostic tools, Laptop-based engineering applications. • Ability to read wiring diagrams and follow installation instructions. Additional Skills & Qualifications • ADAS or Autonomous Vehicle testing experience. • Experience with vehicle data collection programs. • Experience troubleshooting loggers, gateways, cameras, radar, lidar, or GPS systems. • Knowledge of Vector, CANalyzer, CANoe, Log files or similar automotive tools. • Experience in performing vehicle build-up, prototype modifications, or hardware integration. • Basic Linux and Windows troubleshooting skills. • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Work EnvironmentThe position is based in the Rochester office, with potential travel domestically and internationally. The role requires working with advanced automotive technologies, and you will be part of a dynamic environment where maintaining fleet readiness and cleanliness is essential. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Auburn Hills, MI. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
