About this role

About Techbuyer

Techbuyer is a global leader in sustainable IT lifecycle solutions, providing enterprise organisations with new and refurbished servers, storage, and networking equipment alongside comprehensive support services. With headquarters in the UK and operations spanning multiple continents, we help businesses optimise their IT infrastructure while reducing environmental impact through circular economy principles.

Our Enterprise Solutions business partners with leading vendors including HPE, Dell, VMware, and Veeam to deliver tailored solutions that meet the demanding requirements of modern data centres.

What We’re Looking For

As a Senior Technical Consultant for Techbuyer, you will be responsible for providing both pre and post-sales technical support within the Enterprise Solutions division. This involves day-to-day working with all of Techbuyer’s customers across the portfolio of the industry vendors that we partner with, specifically Hewlett Packard Enterprise.

The Opportunity

This is an opportunity to play a central technical role in the growth of Techbuyer’s Enterprise Solutions business, supporting customers as they assess, design, and implement infrastructure solutions across servers, storage, virtualisation, backup, cloud, and related services.

As Senior Technical Consultant, you will act as the technical lead across customer engagements, working closely with the Enterprise Solutions sales team to understand each customer’s environment, qualify technical requirements, and translate those needs into practical, commercially sound solutions.

You will have the opportunity to combine hands-on technical expertise with strong consultative skills, supporting customers from initial discovery and solution design through to proposal support, technical presentations, and post-sales delivery.

With the support of Techbuyer’s UK headquarters, vendor management, distribution partners, and wider technical resources, this role would suit someone who enjoys taking ownership, building trusted customer relationships, and helping shape a high-quality Enterprise Solutions proposition in a growing market.

Position Summary

This role is a key driver in accelerating Techbuyer’s expansion across Australia. As a Senior Technical Consultant, you will work under the direction of the UK team to technically penetrate deep and wide into Techbuyer’s existing customers and prospects.

You will be tasked with understanding the technical needs of each end user, building peer-to-peer relationships across the customers and prospects, and correctly positioning the portfolio of Techbuyer’s services and Enterprise Solutions, working hand in hand with the Enterprise Solutions sales team.

You will be designing solutions to meet the customer’s unique technical needs whilst gaining support and expertise from your Vendor and Distribution relationships.

Your technical skills will be second only to your ability to articulate the technical benefits of your solutions to each customer.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop technical solutions, working with the Enterprise Sales team on each opportunity.

• Build peer-to-peer technical relationships within each customer to ensure Techbuyer provides industry-leading advice and consultancy on every engagement.

• Deliver excellence at every pre-sales meeting, working to understand the customer’s full technical and business needs to ensure every design is fit for purpose.

• Deliver internal proposal support to the Enterprise Sales team, ensuring all technical aspects are presented correctly in both written and diagrammatic form.

• Provide post-sales on-site and remote implementation services, driven via Techbuyer’s professional services methodology.

• Maintain HPE’s formal technical accreditations to ensure Techbuyer meets the requirements dictated by the Vendor.

• Be the technical lead on every engagement, utilising the extended network of Vendor and Distribution relationships to ensure the highest possible level of expertise is provided at all times.

• Be instrumental in Techbuyer being recognised as one of the leading Information Technology solution providers globally.

Experience & Qualifications

Essential

• Demonstrable experience working with end users within mid-corporate and Enterprise customers in an IT-related technical or technical account manager role.

• Strong knowledge of key technical decision drivers within the IT industry.

• A solid understanding of IT industry trends, issues, and concepts.

• Excellent presentation skills, comfortable presenting up to and including CTO level.

• Ability to build relationships and work effectively with a variety of organisations, management levels, cultures, and personalities, both internally and externally.

• Formal technical accreditations including HPE ATP and HPE ASE, or on path to complete.

Desirable

• VMware VSP, VTSP, or VCP accreditation.

• Veeam VMSP, VMTSP, or VMCE accreditation.

• Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect accreditation.

• AWS Solutions Architect Associate accreditation.
