About this role

Job Title: Physical Therapist – Occupational Health & Tactical Performance

Department: Occupational Health & Primary Care

Location: North Carolina (Outpatient Clinic & Fitness Facility)

Schedule: Business Operations (Monday – Friday, Full-Time)

About the Role:

As a Physical Therapist at Reserve Health, you will serve as our primary movement and mobility expert, playing a critical role in standardizing care for both primary care patients and our specialized Occupational Health program for Police Officers and Firefighters.

In this role, you won't just treat injuries after they happen—you will design evidence-based rehabilitation and injury-prevention programs tailored to the unique physical demands of tactical athletes. Partnering with primary care providers and supervising Exercise Physiologists, you will help our first responders and community members move better, recover faster, and optimize their long-term health.

Core Clinical Responsibilities:

• Tactical & Primary Care Evaluation: Perform comprehensive movement, health history, and physical therapy evaluations to establish individualized, evidence-based plans of care.

• Program Standardization: Develop and implement standardized initial PT treatment plans for common conditions across Reserve Health.

• First-Responder Education: Design printed and digital educational materials, including tailored injury prevention, stretching, and performance protocols specifically built for Police and Fire personnel.

• Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Direct patient care alongside primary care providers and delegate appropriate exercise protocols to Exercise Physiologists to maximize recovery outcomes.

• Outcome Tracking: Design and monitor measurable physical therapy metrics to track patient progress, evaluate program growth, and demonstrate clinical impact.

• Re-evaluation & Adjustment: Continually measure patient outcomes, adjust care plans, and provide high-energy motivation and support through every stage of rehabilitation.

Clinic Operations & Maintenance:

• Adhere to all Reserve Health protocols, infection control standards, and patient rights initiatives.

• Partner with the Clinic Manager to optimize patient flow, ensuring efficient, high-quality visits.

• Fulfill routine clinic environment responsibilities, including setting up, cleaning, restocking exam/testing areas, and maintaining/calibrating specialized therapy equipment.

• Participate in departmental meetings, training sessions, and organizational growth initiatives.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Education: Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program (DPT preferred).

• Licensure: Active (or eligible for) North Carolina Physical Therapy License in good standing.

• Experience: Experience in outpatient orthopedics, sports medicine, or working with tactical/first-responder populations is highly preferred.

• Key Skills: Strong clinical reasoning, program development capabilities, excellent interprofessional communication, and a passion for preventative care.

What We Offer:

• Competitive salary based on experience.

• Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance options.

• Retirement savings plan with company match.

• Generous Paid Time Off (PTO) and paid holidays.

• A supportive, team-oriented work culture focused on innovation, professional growth, and serving those who serve our community.
