POSITION FUNCTION:
The IELTS/CELPIP Assistant assists the Coordinator in ensuring that all Invigilators are assigned appropriate tasks and that all testing procedures are followed.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Coordinates the movement of clients between waiting room and test rooms
• Support the completion of following tasks by invigilators, and perform these tasks directly when needed
• Checks identity of test takers
• Secures integrity of the test
• Writes date and timing information on board
• Ensures that the listening, reading and writing test room is quiet, well lit, and free of distractions
• Manages the test delivery and timing
• Remains in the test room for the duration of the administration
• Collects and counts all test booklets and answer sheets
• Delivers the completed test to the test day supervisor for scanning
• Ensures invigilation materials are in order
• Scans all test material to assessment centre for marking if applicable
• Uploads and confirms client ID’s and confirm payments on systems if applicable
• Documents any irregularities and reports to the coordinator if necessary
• Receive and record Question Papers
• Register candidates for Writing and Speaking portions of the test and usher candidates to and from the test rooms
• Issue and receive Speaking test materials from Examiners
• May invigilate on occasion as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
• High school completion or equivalent certification.
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
• Excellent English communication skills, other languages an asset
• Experience maintaining office procedures and managing sensitive documents
• Tactful, flexible, discrete
• Able to take initiative in the absence of supervision
• Able to work independently and within a team
• Ability to manage stressful situations
• Knowledge and experience using standard office equipment; Microsoft 365
• Minimum one year of experience with IELTS exam invigilating procedures
COMPENSATION: $24.94 - $27.54 per hour
HOURS & LOCATIONS:
70 hrs biweekly. Fixed term position October 1, 2026 to March 31, 2028. Schedule may rotate based on business needs. Schedules can include weekends and evenings. The successful candidates must be able to commute to 699 Victoria St. Kamloops, British Columbia, V2C 3S8. The successful candidate must be able to start position in Kamloops by October 1, 2026.
