Job Description:

Handling of incoming and outgoing packages/shipments in a warehouse. Job duties include packaging and weighing items, printing shipping labels and postage, inspecting goods received for damage and distributing products to other departments.

Key Responsibilities:

Receiving -

• Verifies and keeps records on incoming shipments. Verifies materials received are as ordered and routes incoming items to appropriate locations.

• Receive and unload incoming materials and compare information on packing slip with purchase order to verify accuracy of shipment.

• Inspects shipments for damages or defects or shortages; records discrepancies, damages or questionable conditions to supervisor and/or purchasing personnel.

• Identify shipments without purchase order and delivers items to requisitioning departments.

• Unpack, examines and label parts prior to stocking.

• Process all defective and/or return shipments from customers for replacement or credit.

• Performs all computer functions necessary to track various aspects of parts/equipment.

• Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly conditions and follows prescribed safety regulations.

Parts Shipping -

• Prepares items for shipping ensuring cost effective courier services.

• Determine most economical and efficient shipping method.

• Select appropriate shipping container.

• Packs items to ensure safe delivery.

• Properly label packages and follow shipping instructions as provided by customer.

• Prepare bills of lading; checks items to be shipped against work orders to ascertain that quantities and destination are correct.

• Traces lost shipments and/or customer claims of lost shipments; initiates proof of delivery documents.

• Generate End of Day manifest reports for accounting.

• Operate company vehicle to deliver shipments to UPS/FedEx locations.

Inventory & Warehouse Support

• Maintain accurate inventory counts through cycle counts and audits

• Assist with inventory organization and warehouse layout improvements

• Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

Safety & Compliance

• Follow company safety policies and OSHA guidelines

• Properly handle hazardous or regulated materials, if applicable

• Report safety concerns or incidents promptly

Qualifications Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Shipping and Receiving: 1 year min (preferred)

• Warehouse: 1 year min (preferred)

• Forklift/Material handling experience
