About Suwali
Suwali is an AI-powered messaging platform that helps trusted newsrooms, nonprofits, and public-interest organizations connect with their audiences through meaningful conversations grounded in verified, trusted information. It is a product built by the nonprofit Meedan.
We’re looking for an experienced, hands-on salesperson to help us turn growing market interest into a repeatable sales motion and paying customers.
The Role
This is a four-month contract role for a full-cycle B2B SaaS salesperson who can both sell and build.
Suwali is in the early stages of commercial growth. We have an existing product, initial customers, and market interest, but we need to sharpen our sales motion and build a repeatable path from prospecting through close.
You’ll own the sales process end-to-end: identifying and qualifying prospects, running discovery and demos, managing trials, negotiating and closing deals. At the same time, you’ll help us improve the process itself by testing messaging, qualification, demos, trial structures, and pricing based on what you learn in the market.
This role is best suited to someone who is comfortable with relatively high-velocity B2B SaaS sales and managing a meaningful volume of opportunities. You’ll work closely with our leadership and product teams and will have significant autonomy over how you approach the market.
What You’ll Do
• Own the full sales cycle from prospecting and qualification through discovery, demo, trial, negotiation, and close.
• Build and manage a qualified pipeline of prospective Suwali customers across the US and Europe.
• Develop relationships with decision-makers at newsrooms, nonprofits, civic organizations, and other public-interest organizations.
• Maintain a disciplined pipeline with clear next steps, expected decision dates and indicative contract values.
• Close new business and build a forward-looking pipeline for 2027
• Identify and address common objections, product barriers, and reasons prospects fail to progress.
• Document the sales motion so that what you learn can be transferred to the wider team.
• Work closely with product and program teams to bring customer feedback into ongoing product and commercial decisions.
What We’re Looking For
Required:
• 5+ years of B2B SaaS sales experience.
• A demonstrated track record of closing low-to-mid ACV deals.
• Experience owning a full sales cycle, including prospecting, qualification, discovery, demos, trials, negotiation, and close.
• Experience working in an early-stage company where the sales process was still being developed.
• A genuine builder mentality: you enjoy figuring out what works, testing it, learning from the results, and improving the process.
• Strong discovery, qualification, value-based selling, and objection-handling skills.
• Comfort managing a relatively high-volume sales pipeline without losing discipline around qualification and follow-up.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of a revenue target.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to document processes, share learnings, and transfer knowledge to a wider team.
Strongly preferred:
• Experience selling to newsrooms, nonprofits, civic organizations, or other public-interest organizations.
• Familiarity with the budgeting, procurement, and decision-making processes of mission-driven organizations.
• Experience selling products involving AI, information technology, media, or communications.
• Existing relationships or familiarity with the U.S. and European nonprofit, media, or civic technology ecosystems.
What Success Looks Like
This is a results-oriented role. Over the four-month engagement, you’ll be expected to:
• Build a meaningful, qualified pipeline from both existing market interest and proactive prospecting.
• Establish a clear and repeatable sales process from qualification through close.
• Convert the early pipeline into new paying Suwali customers.
• Build a credible forward pipeline for late 2026 and early 2027.
• Identify which customer profiles, use cases, and messages are converting—and which aren’t.
• Leave behind a documented sales playbook that the broader team can continue to use.
Why This Role
This is an opportunity to join Suwali at an important point in its commercial development. The product is in the market, customers are using it, and we are seeing growing interest—but we need to turn that early traction into a repeatable commercial engine.
You’ll have the opportunity to shape how we sell the product, rather than stepping into an established sales machine. The person in this role will have a direct influence on our 2027 growth strategy and on how we take Suwali to market..
The role can be based in the U.S. or Europe, but you’ll need to be comfortable working regularly with customers and prospects in the U.S. Eastern time zone.
Contract: Four months initially, with potential for extension based on performance and business needs.
