About the role
• Title: Senior Legal Counsel
• Function: Legal
• Reporting: Head of Legal
What you’ll do:
- Contract Negotiation: Draft, review, and negotiate customer-facing agreements (MSAs, order forms, amendments, DPAs) with enterprise and regulated financial institution clients, including vendor and reseller agreements. - Policy Development: Maintain and improve contract templates and playbooks to standardize negotiation positions and reduce turnaround time. - Risk Management: Advise on multi-jurisdictional data protection compliance: GDPR/UK GDPR, Israeli Privacy Protection Law, Hong Kong PDPO, Singapore PDPA, China PIPL, and - - US state privacy laws (CCPA/CPRA). Review and negotiate Data Processing Agreements and cross-border data transfer mechanisms. -Support AI product compliance workstreams. - Advise on multi-jurisdiction employment matters, including terminations, probationary period issues, and EOR/PEO arrangements for cross-border hires. - Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Sales, Product, Engineering and Finance to unblock deals and provide practical, business-aligned legal guidance under time pressure. - Contribute to legal operations: maintaining the legal request intake/tracking system, drafting departmental OKRs, and legal process improvement.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Qualified lawyer (LL.B./J.D. or equivalent) with active bar admission in at least one relevant jurisdiction; 7–10+ years' post-qualification experience, with substantial in-house experience at a SaaS and technology. - Demonstrated expertise in commercial contract drafting and negotiation (SaaS MSAs, DPAs, vendor/reseller agreements) at enterprise scale. - Working knowledge of data privacy and data protection law. - Strong stakeholder management skills; ability to communicate legal risk clearly and pragmatically to non-legal audiences (executives, sales, product. - Experience managing outside counsel relationships and budgets across multiple jurisdictions.
Nice-to-Have:
- Direct experience with regulated financial institution customers (banks, asset managers) or the RegTech/communications-compliance/archiving space. - Experience building or improving legal operations infrastructure (contract playbooks, template libraries). - Familiarity with AI-assisted legal drafting/review tools and comfort integrating them into workflow. - English Proficiency - Fluent to native-level professional English (spoken and written) is mandatory.
