Position Summary

The Material Handler / Hardlines Production position receives, sorts, processes, prices, tags, and stocks donated hard goods for sale in our retail stores. This role helps keep donations and merchandise moving efficiently from the donation area through production and onto the sales floor.

By helping transform donations into sellable merchandise, you'll directly support the revenue that funds Goodwill's mission and community programs.

What You'll Do

• Greet donors and assist with unloading donations.

• Inspect and sort donated goods into the appropriate categories.

• Evaluate hardlines merchandise for condition, safety, and resale potential.

• Price and tag merchandise using the Celerant system.

• Identify unique, vintage, branded, or high-quality items that may be appropriate for e-Commerce.

• Move processed merchandise to the sales floor and stock items safely and neatly.

• Help rotate merchandise and maintain an organized, customer-ready sales floor.

• Meet established daily production goals while maintaining quality standards.

• Maintain clean and safe donation, production, and sales-floor areas.

• Work with team members to keep donations and merchandise flowing efficiently.

What We're Looking For

• Dependable and able to maintain a steady, productive work pace.

• Good attention to detail and judgment when sorting, pricing, and handling merchandise.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Willingness to learn systems and equipment used for pricing, tagging, and moving merchandise.

• Strong customer and donor service skills.

• Flexible availability, including the ability to work a varied schedule Sunday through Saturday.

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and frequently bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and move merchandise.

• Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 35 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds, with assistance as needed.

• Comfortable performing donation intake duties outdoors in varying weather conditions.

• High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
