PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Lead the overall management and recovery strategy for delinquent, past-due and charged-off loans.
• Develop and implement collections strategies, policies, workflows, escalation procedures and recovery standards.
• Monitor departmental collections KPIs, delinquency trends and recovery performance, providing strategic reporting and recommendations to Senior Management.
• Lead, coach and develop the Collections team, ensuring appropriate performance management and achievement of departmental objectives.
• Provide direction on complex recovery matters and coordinate with Legal, Lending, Risk & Compliance, Accounts, Security & Operations and Member Services.
• Oversee the repossession, valuation and disposal of secured assets and ensure appropriate recovery strategies are implemented.
• Ensure collections practices comply with legislation, regulatory requirements, policies, risk standards and ethical expectations.
• Ensure appropriate follow-up, payment arrangements, restructuring, and recovery actions are taken.
• Oversee the collection and recovery of written-off and severely delinquent accounts, where applicable.
• Monitor review and approve management information, ensuring accurate and timely reporting on portfolio performance and recovery results.
• Identify and implement strategic opportunities to improve recovery rates, operational efficiency, risk management and member outcomes.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
The post holder must possess:
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or Business Administration, or Economics, or Banking, or a related field.
• 5-8 years of experience in credit, collections, recoveries, or delinquency management, including at least 2–3 years in a supervisory or management role.
• Strong knowledge of consumer and/or commercial lending, credit risk, and loan recovery practices.
• Proven experience managing delinquent and non-performing loan portfolios and implementing effective collection and recovery strategies.
• Demonstrated experience leading collections teams and managing performance against established targets and KPIs.
• Sound knowledge of debt collection practices, consumer protection requirements, and applicable financial services regulations.
• Working knowledge of financial products and services and their associated credit and collection processes.
• Knowledge of Credit Union operations and practices would be an asset.
• Familiarity with applicable Cayman Islands legislation and regulatory requirements, including the Co-operative Societies Act, Proceeds of Crime Act, Anti-Corruption Law, Anti-Money Laundering Regulations, and relevant CIMA credit risk guidance would be an asset.
• Experience using collections management systems, core banking systems, and reporting/analytics tools is preferred.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, leadership, and decision-making skills.

• Computer literacy including Word Processing, Spreadsheet application and PowerPoint Presentations are essential.
