About the Role:
The Graduate Development Programme at Chetcuti Cauchi Advocates is designed to offer ambitious full-time students at tertiary level and beyond, with paid, practical experience within a prominent Maltese law firm. This initiative provides valuable exposure to corporate and commercial law while working alongside experienced professionals. Through exposure to real client work and structured mentorship, the programme equips students with the practical skills, professional mindset, and legal insight needed to build a strong foundation for their future careers.
Key Responsibilities:
Legal & Research Support
• Assist teams with research on Maltese and EU legislation, regulatory frameworks, and case law.
• Support lawyers in preparing internal memos, legal analyses, client-facing research, and strategic briefs.
Client & Regulatory Support
• Support communication with clients under supervision.
• Assist interactions with authorities, regulatory bodies, foreign legal counsel, and external advisors.
• Contribute to client onboarding procedures across assigned departments.
Document & File Management
• Prepare and organise legal, corporate, immigration, and tax-related documents.
• Update internal systems and maintain accurate records in line with firm procedures.
• Ensure compliance with data handling standards and regulatory requirements.
Learning
• Shadow lawyers and senior associates to gain practical exposure to file management, advisory work, and client interactions.
• Contribute to internal knowledge-building through presentations, research notes, and training material preparation.
General Professional Development
• Attend internal and external training sessions coordinated by HR.
• Demonstrate initiative, professionalism, and a willingness to learn.
• Support departmental teams with administrative or project based tasks as required.
