We are looking for a professional, confident Ward Manager who can lead, inspire & oversee the delivery of the very best care.

You’ll be working 40 hours a week (Upper Ward) at Cygnet Acer Clinic.

Cygnet Acer Clinic is a 28 bed service providing assessment, treatment and rehabilitation for women with personality disorder and complex needs or acute mental health needs.

Upper Ward:

Acer Upper is a mental health acute service for women, based at Cygnet Acer Clinic in Derbyshire.

The ward provides assessment and treatment for women experiencing a mental health crisis who require an emergency admission.

Our team works closely and collaboratively with service users, their families and the referrer to provide a seamless pathway from referral to discharge. Our approach is recovery focused and supported by a comprehensive multidisciplinary team, contributing to shorter lengths of stay.

We also benefit from a highly specialised personality disorder service on site, and can offer a pathway for women that may require an extended therapy programme.

Your day-to-day… • Provide suggestions, proposals & recommendations to the Hospital Manager aimed at the continued development of the ward • Contribute & participate in planne d visits to the ward by professional visitors • Initiate & maintain a monitoring system in relation to professional nursing practice at unit level, including pin numbers & the current registration of all qualified staff • Ensure that the evaluation of service delivery is user (i.e. patient, carer & family) based • Advise non-clinical staff within the hospital on management of patients with mental illness • Ensure patients’ rights to confidentiality are respected & that Cygnet Health Care & professional policies are adhered to.

You are… • Committed to delivering improvement strategies across all aspects of clinical service provision • Familiar with an in-patient setting • Experienced in managing change, leadership initiatives, motivating & developing others • Open, compassionate, honest & resilient • Capable of undertaking audits, developing, following-up & ensuring completion of action plans • Well-informed of the Mental Health Act & the latest nursing practices • Focused on patient recovery to monitor, manage & reduce risk.
