Newmarket Holidays at a glance
Our aim is to enrich lives and well-being through travel. That is our purpose. Our ‘why’. It is ambitious and bold, but through the commitment of our brilliant people, we’re doing more and more each day to create and deliver incredible wish-list holidays. The types of holidays that people have always dreamt of experiencing. We bring those dreams to life and are the trusted friends of our loyal customers.
The Newmarket Spirit is what binds us together. Throughout this, our 42nd year, and all other years, we strive to grow. To challenge ourselves in new ways. Embracing different points of view and realising our potential. For the right person, their story can begin right here.
The Role
Since establishing our Sustainability function in 2024, Newmarket Holidays has moved from a standing start to a business that can measure, report and act on its impact, with two full-year sustainability strategies, two impact reports and an ESG dashboard tracking emissions across our tour portfolio. This role exists to build on that foundation, turning data and strategy into action across the business. Reporting to the Head of Service Delivery & Responsibility, the Senior Sustainability Executive is the operational engine of Newmarket Holidays' Sustainability Strategy. You'll own day-to-day sustainability reporting and analysis, support the ongoing development of our strategy, and act as the connective tissue between the sustainability agenda and colleagues across Product, Marketing, Operations and our supply chain. This isn't an entry-level or management role, but one for someone with a working grasp of ESG principles and carbon accounting who's ready to apply that in a live, commercial travel business.
What I do
• Support the ongoing development, refresh and delivery of our annual Sustainability Strategy, tracking progress against KPIs and flagging risks and opportunities
• Own and maintain the ESG dashboard, ensuring tour-level carbon emissions data is accurate, current and audit-ready
• Calculate and report Scope 1 and 2 emissions, and support the groundwork for extending measurement into Scope 3
• Lead the production of our annual Impact Report, ensuring the narrative is evidence-based, credible and free from greenwashing
• Work with suppliers, airlines, hoteliers, ground agents and Tour Managers to embed sustainable practice and improve emissions data
• Head up the internal Greenmakers team, coordinating colleagues across the business on sustainability activity and campaigns
Who I am
• Around 1 to 3 years' experience in a sustainability, ESG or responsible business role, ideally with some exposure to travel, tourism or hospitality
• Demonstrable understanding of ESG frameworks and reporting requirements, with practical experience of carbon accounting (Scope 1 and 2 minimum)
• Experience producing data for external stakeholders such as investors, auditors or regulators, to defined deadlines
• Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel and confidence working with complex data sets
• Excellent written communication, able to write with equal credibility for a board pack, an impact report and a customer-facing web page
• A self-starter who takes ownership and initiative, with a genuine, evidence-led passion for sustainability and responsible tourism
What we can offer you
• A changing and multi-cultural team-spirited environment with opportunities to learn from new experiences and challenges.
• Leaders who are interested in your development and committed to helping you to be the best version of yourself.
• A responsible organisation that cares about its people, the environment, and the communities we visit
• Encouragement to take initiative and try something new and different.
• A flexible and hybrid-working arrangement.
• An exciting set of benefits.
• The opportunity to visit our destinations and experience our holidays.
