Long-Term Substitute Culinary Arts Teacher Qualifications:
• Hold a valid Iowa substitute authorization, or other appropriate licensure as required by the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners.
• Experience or knowledge in culinary arts, food preparation, nutrition, hospitality, or a related field preferred.
• Ability to follow established curriculum, lesson plans, and classroom procedures.
• Ability to provide hands-on instruction in cooking techniques, kitchen safety, sanitation, nutrition, and proper use of culinary equipment.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and productive classroom and kitchen environment.
• Communicate effectively and build positive relationships with students, staff, families, and administrators.
• Manage student behavior while promoting responsibility, teamwork, professionalism, and respect.
• Assess student work, maintain accurate records, and provide appropriate feedback.
• Demonstrate reliability, professionalism, confidentiality, and a commitment to student success.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Duties: As normally assigned to the position, including planning and delivering culinary instruction, supervising students during laboratory activities, assessing student progress, and maintaining classroom and kitchen safety. Position: Long-term substitute assignment; dates and schedule to be determined. Compensation: As determined by the district's substitute teacher compensation schedule.
