Gateway Regional Secretary The Gateway Regional School District is seeking a secretary position. The position will serve in the main office and the counseling office. This position consists of 4 hours a day for a total of 190 days per year. Work days to be determined by principal. Experience as school secretary preferred. The successful candidate will ideally possess:
• Prior experience in an administrative, secretarial, school, or office setting preferred
• Experience working directly with students or young people preferred
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and a welcoming, student-centered approach
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive student information with professionalism
• Proficiency with computers, databases, spreadsheets, and common office software
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with counselors, teachers, administrators, students, and families
• A commitment to creating a supportive and positive experience for every student
Primary Responsibilities The Counseling Secretary will work closely with the school counseling team and administration to support a wide range of student services and school operations, including:
• Supporting students with vocational and technical school applications and related processes
• Assisting with scholarship opportunities, applications, deadlines, and communication
• Maintaining and organizing student records and other confidential documentation
• Supporting counselors with scheduling, communication, student information, and daily office operations
• Coordinating grade verification and other academic record processes
• Organizing and overseeing the school's Honor Roll process
• Assisting in the planning and coordination of the annual awards ceremony and other student recognition events
• Communicating with students, families, colleges, organizations, and outside partners as needed
• Supporting the coordination of student academic, college, and career-related opportunities
• Maintaining calendars, deadlines, forms, and other important counseling office information
• Providing general support to the Main Office as needed
• Assisting with other duties and responsibilities that support students, families, and the overall operation of the school
• Starting pay varies between $23.74 and $28.40 per hour, contingent upon the applicant's background and educational level. This position is benefits eligible.
