Job Summary A License Practical Nurse working in a school setting has the role of enhancing the educational process by improving and protecting the health and well-being of students and staff by applying their nursing skills. Qualifications
• Currently hold and active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) License in Tennessee
• Meet necessary health and physical qualifications
Essential Functions/Job Duties
• Administer student medication as required during the school day, with parent permission according to a physician's order
• Responds to any emergency medical situation on a school site
• Assumes responsibility for knowing and following the safety rules and proper procedures associated with the responsibilities of the job
• Attends to medical needs of all students and staff
• Keeps up to date and detailed medical records
• Verifies student immunization records are up to date
• Conduct annual health screenings
• Consult with Registered Nurse to seek guidance if necessary
• Perform other duties as assigned
