About this role
Age - 15 and older Prerequisites Water Safety Instructor certified through American Red Cross. Ability to successfully perform all necessary requirements for all WSI levels (1-6). Reports To Aquatics Center Supervisor Position Type A variety of positions are available including: Part-Time, Seasonal and Year Round. For this position, prefer the ability to work daytime hours during the school year. Description
• The Swim Instructor is responsible for providing swim instruction to students of all ages following the American Red Cross (ARC) curriculum and guidelines within a safe, enjoyable and positive atmosphere that promotes safety and participant satisfaction. • Creates a safe, enjoyable and positive class experience. • Provides swim instruction to students of various ages and levels of ability. • Explains and demonstrates proper swimming techniques and aquatic skills. • Teaches and encourages participants in the acquisition of new aquatic skills and swimming strokes. • Develops progressive lesson plans and modifies instructional strategy as needed. • Maintains constant supervision of participants and responds to emergency situations. • Communicates consistently to each participant throughout the class about performance, progress and goals.

• 15 years of age and older
• Ability to work independently and possess energy and enthusiasm
• Ability to positively interact with co-workers and the general public
• Punctual, responsible and self-motivated
• WSI Certification
Schedule and Location Shifts vary Monday through Sunday at the New Prague Aquatic Center's indoor facility. Training Lifeguard and WSI training is available multiple times each year at the New Prague Aquatic Center. Inquire about upcoming classes. Req ID# 2253
