The role involves writing and monitoring Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), delivering tailored instruction in resource or self-contained settings, and ensuring a safe, supportive learning environment. Key Responsibilities
• Instruction: Plan and deliver lessons matching student needs, functional performance, and state standards or Extended Content Standards. • IEP Management: Write, review, and monitor Individualized Education Programs and track progress data. • Classroom Management: Maintain a safe environment, manage student behavior, and direct support staff or instructional assistants. • Collaboration: Work closely with general education teachers, parents, school staff, and administrators. Qualifications
• Hold an active North Carolina teaching license in Exceptional Children. • Demonstrate knowledge of adaptive curricula, behavior intervention, or specialized settings depending on student needs.
