About this role
JOB GOAL Coordinates services and supports for children and youth experiencing homelessness (students in transition) and their families. Works to identify and remove barriers to enrollment, attendance, school stability, participation, and academic success, and to support district compliance with the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act and related federal and state requirements. QUALIFICATIONS
• Post-secondary education in education, school counseling, social work, human services, or a related field preferred; a valid Tennessee educator license or other relevant professional credential is preferred but not required;
• Experience in student services, education, counseling, social work, case management, federal programs, community services, or work with children, youth, and families experiencing housing instability is preferred;
• Demonstrates knowledge of, or the ability to learn and apply, the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act, the Education for Homeless Children and Youth program, and related federal and state requirements;
• Has strong written, verbal, organizational, documentation, problem-solving, collaboration, presentation, and interpersonal skills; and
• Is able to maintain confidentiality, manage sensitive situations professionally, travel among district locations and community sites as needed, and perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
This is a 220-day, salaried position with insurance and retirement benefits. Salary will be determined by approved comparable work experience. Starting salary will be no less than $50,023 per year.
