Job Title: Technology Technician III Qualifications:
• Minimum - Associates Degree and 7 years of technology support and device repair OR 10 years of technology support and device repair
• Desirable - Bachelor Degree and 5 years of technology support and device repair OR Associates Degree and 7 years of technology support and device repair
Physical Requirements: The work requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision and hearing. The work requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations. The work at times requires bending, squatting, reaching, with the ability to lift, carry (max of 50 lbs), push or pull light weights. The work requires activities frequently involving driving automotive equipment. Reports to: Director of Technology Supervises: N/A Purpose of Position: This work includes repair and maintenance of all technology-related equipment as well as technical support for all technology-related systems. This role delivers technical assistance and system maintenance for students, faculty, and administrative departments throughout the district. This position will have complete ownership and administer at least one central management system. This position is responsible for documentation, communication, training and lifecycle of the system(s).This employee will have an understanding for maintaining the operation and integrity of local area networks, file servers, and workstations. Through scheduling and assigning technical support staff work tasks, the Technology Technician III supports the Director of Technology, Sr. Network Engineer and System Administrator in the design, configuration, and installation of MGSD technology environment. This position is distinguished from the Technology Technician II by its emphasis on owning and managing specialized systems to support the entire district. Responsibilities, Duties, & Expectations:
• Manage and maintain assigned technology systems to the highest standards
• Provides escalated technical support and assistance to the Technology team
• Utilizes management platforms for inventory and ticketing to document equipment repair history and track asset distribution.
• Oversees the setup and deployment of district hardware, including OS installation and integration with administrative management platforms
• Documents and communicates to the Technology team and stakeholders all aspects of their systems.
• Provides crisis management support for major outages that could seriously affect the educational environment.
• Trains end users and provides documentation to support their technology systems.
• Performs related duties as assigned.
• Ensures that decisions that daily, weekly, monthly statistics, status reports and graphical reporting, aids are completed and continually modified to meet the needs of the department
• Responsible for installing, updating, and maintaining various software and hardware components
• This position will provide top level support for the systems and technologies they manage. This includes providing escalating support for technicians and technology assistants.
Essential Skills:

• Comprehensive knowledge of productivity software and applications.
• Knowledge of debugging, diagnosis and repair techniques and tools.
• Knowledge of Mac/Windows, application installs and deployment.
• Ability to effectively work with technology coordinators, principals, media coordinators, vendors, contractors, engineers, teachers and staff in a timely manner.

Terms of Employment: 12 month, full-time with benefits package contingent upon satisfactory performance and overall good standing Salary: Salary commensurate with NC State Salary Schedule
