• Current Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) educator license in one or more of the following areas: Teacher of Students with Moderate Disabilities (PreK–8); Teacher of Students with Severe Disabilities (All Levels); Early Childhood: Students With and Without Disabilities (PreK–2); Elementary (1–6)

• Another current Massachusetts DESE teaching license may be considered based on the candidate's qualifications and experience. ? Experience supporting students with disabilities and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) preferred. The successful candidate will demonstrate:

• the ability to provide individualized academic instruction to a Grade 2 student in the student's home;

• knowledge of developmentally appropriate elementary instructional practices;

• the ability to provide instruction aligned with the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and the student's individual educational needs;

• the ability to implement accommodations, modifications, and specially designed instruction as outlined in the student's IEP, as applicable;

• the ability to use student performance and progress data to adjust instruction;

• strong organizational, planning, and communication skills;

• the ability to collaborate effectively with district staff, service providers, and the student's family;

• the ability to maintain accurate documentation of instruction, student attendance, and progress;

• flexibility in responding to the individual academic needs of the student; and

• a commitment to the safety, inclusion, and success of the student.

Position Responsibilities: The Academic Tutor will provide direct academic instruction to a Grade 2 student in the student's home. Instruction will be individualized based on the student's educational program and will focus on maintaining access to grade-level curriculum, addressing identified areas of need, and supporting continued academic progress. The tutor will collaborate with appropriate Winchendon Public Schools staff to ensure continuity between the student's home-based instruction and district programming and will maintain required documentation regarding services provided and student progress. Schedule: 3 hours per day, 4 days per week (12 hours per week). Specific days and instructional hours will be mutually determined by the tutor and the student's family in order to establish a consistent weekly schedule.
