About this role

*Only current employees within the maintenance department may apply* Key Responsibilities: • Assists in assigning, reviewing, prioritizing, monitoring, and closing maintenance work orders based on urgency, safety, operational impact, and school needs. • Assists in adjusting work priorities and reallocating resources in response to emergency requests, changing conditions, and operational needs. • Assists in monitoring preventive maintenance activities, schedules, equipment, building systems, warranties, and related facility records. • Conducts or assists with periodic facility inspections to identify maintenance, safety, operational, and facility concerns and communicates needed corrective action. • Assists the Director of Facilities and Construction with the daily coordination and operation of the Maintenance Department. • Provides guidance and direction to maintenance employees regarding work assignments, priorities, procedures, and safety expectations as assigned by the Director of Facilities and Construction. • Coordinates and monitors outside contractors and vendors performing work on School Division property, including site visits, scheduling, work progress, quality, and compliance with established requirements. • Assists in coordinating projects to ensure work is performed in accordance with approved plans, specifications, schedules, and contractual requirements. • Participates in project meetings, inspections, and final walk-throughs; monitors punch-list completion and communicates unresolved issues to appropriate personnel. • Assists in obtaining and maintaining project closeout documentation, including warranties, operation and maintenance information, manuals, as-built drawings, estimates, schedules, and other required documentation. • Orders or assists in ordering parts, materials, tools, and supplies in accordance with School Division purchasing procedures. • Promotes compliance with School Division safety procedures and applicable safety requirements; reports accidents, injuries, hazardous conditions, and other safety concerns in accordance with established procedures. • Maintains effective communication with school administrators, department supervisors, maintenance employees, vendors, contractors, and division personnel regarding work orders, schedules, priorities, projects, and operational concerns. • Promotes positive and professional working relationships and responds to questions and concerns in a timely, service-oriented manner. • Participates in department meetings, safety training, inspections, and other assigned activities and performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Facilities and Construction or appropriate administrator. Qualifcations: High school diploma or GED; trade school certification or specialized license (electrical, HVAC, plumbing) is preferred, but not required. Must have a valid driver's license and a clean Department of Motor Vehicles record. The ability to obtain OSHA 30 within the first 90 days is required.
