SOUTH LAKE SCHOOLS Noon Monitor - South Lake Middle School Hours based on student need Job Goal: The Noon Monitor is an integral part of the district's educational program. This position provides supervision, guidance, and support to students during lunch and other assigned supervisory periods while helping maintain a safe, positive, and orderly environment. The Noon Monitor promotes appropriate student behavior, encourages positive social interactions, and helps students engage in meaningful activities during unstructured times. Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong interpersonal and human relations skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children and adolescents.
• Ability to communicate respectfully and positively with students, staff, and families.
• Such alternatives to the above as the Superintendent or designee may find appropriate and acceptable.
Reports To: Building Principal Duties & Responsibilities Include:
• Supervise students in hallways, cafeterias, common areas, and other assigned locations while maintaining a safe and orderly environment.
• Organize students for entrance into the lunchroom and assist with seating procedures as needed.
• Organize groups for orderly dismissal from the lunchroom and other assigned areas.
• Direct and monitor the movement of students throughout the building during lunch periods and transitions.
• Assist with maintaining a positive school climate by encouraging respectful and appropriate student behavior.
• Accompany a sick or injured student to the office or other designated location as directed.
• Maintain records and perform clerical duties as assigned.
• Document and report student behavior concerns, incidents, or code-of-conduct violations to the principal or designee.
• Participate in required in-service training programs.
• Exercise sound judgment in observing, addressing, and de-escalating inappropriate student behavior.
• Establish and maintain positive working relationships with students and staff members.
• Communicate effectively with students and foster an atmosphere of mutual respect and trust.
• Follow oral and written directions efficiently and accurately.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee in support of district goals and operational needs.
Employment Conditions:
• Employees shall remain free of alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout their employment with the District.
• Employees shall comply with all Board policies and applicable federal and state laws and regulations, including but not limited to Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), applicable nondiscrimination requirements, and related educational regulations.

ADA Requirements:
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, families, staff, and community members.
• Ability to supervise middle school students in cafeterias, hallways, classrooms, common areas, and other school settings.
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, and move throughout school buildings and grounds for extended periods.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain effective student supervision.
• Ability to observe, assess, and appropriately respond to student behavior and safety concerns.
• Ability to read, understand, and complete reports, records, and other job-related documentation.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions when assigned.
• Ability to attend meetings, trainings, and school-related events that may occasionally occur outside the regular workday.
Terms of Employment: Class III – 1.5 hours per day. Compensation: Entrance Level: $12.67 Maximum Level: $15.30 Benefits and compensation are in accordance with the Paraprofessional Collective Bargaining Agreement.
