About this role
SUPERVISOR: Special Education/Preschool Director QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must hold Kentucky License as a Speech/Language Pathologist or be eligible to obtain EPSB certification upon offer of employment as SLP by a Kentucky Public School District.
• Conduct speech and language screenings and interpret results.
• Report to the ARC Committee regarding student progress and treatment plans.
• Develop, revise, and monitor student goals on Individual Education Plans.
• Administer tests for diagnostic evaluations and complete reports of findings.
• Follow KEG-R guidelines and refer to these as necessary to perform duties of position.
• Follow all Russell County Board of Education Policies.
• Communicate with parents, administrators, and other faculty to schedule meetings and evaluations as efficiently as feasible.
• Schedule therapy and attend meetings to ensure IEPs and assessments are provided or administered according to state, federal, local special education regulations and timelines.
• Seek assistance and inform supervisor in the event of any noncompliance of IDEA regulations.
• Learn and enter information into automated system with accuracy to obtain reimbursement from Medicare.
• Assist in Child Find activities as scheduled by supervisor.
• Other duties within the scope of allowable SLP duties as assigned by supervisor or Principal(s).
• Render health services as necessary after appropriate training.
