Job summary

You will have a working knowledge of the broad range of Facilities Services associated with a large organisation and experience of managing compliant services in accordance with mandatory and statutory requirements.

You will have experience of senior level decision making and taking responsibility for acting on those decisions and implementing the requirements. You will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, be effective at chairing and attending meetings and leading and facilitating discussions.

You will be personable to both maintain and develop relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external as these links are vital to Facilities Services in a complex organisation.

You will need to demonstrate your skills and experience as a credible operational leader within an acute trust, evidencing a sustained delivery of improvements, together with your academic credentials and a passion for making a difference to the services delivered within the Directorate and the wider trust. You will be adaptable and flexible in your approach, to meet your workload within demanding timescales and have a values-based leadership style, to reflect the culture of the Trust and Directorate.

Main duties of the job

To take overall responsibility for the day-to-day provision of in-house Facilities Support Services, ensuring that all are flexible, cost effective and meet the changing needs of the organisation's patients, staff and visitors. Support the development of improved performance and service delivery across Catering, Portering, Logistics and Cleaning and Linen services, ensuring they are provided in line with national guidelines and best practice. Play a key role in the auditing and monitoring of services - and leads on a range of projects addressing efficiency, performance and service issues.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

Masters Level Qualification in relevant subject Evidence of CPD Evidence of Senior Leadership Training Level 4 (Advanced) Food Hygiene Certificate

Experience Essential

Experience of Working at Senior Level in Facilities Management in complex organisation Comprehensive knowledge of Soft FM management Experience in leading system and staff change management Able to deal with complex projects and lead in the event of operational failures

Desirable

Experience of leading a large-scale Catering Service
