About this role

Job summary

We are looking for Housekeepers to join our team and welcome applications from candidates who have experience of working in the hospitality industry, Nursing Homes, Hospitals or have other relevant skills.

Housekeepers provide cleaning services to our inpatient wards at The Western Community Hospital in Southampton, which is accessible by public transport.

We have varying roles from 15 and 37.5 hours per week, with shifts between 07:00 and 17:00, however the pattern of work will be discussed at interview.

We want you to form part of our friendly and supportive team who are dedicated to providing a clean, safe and caring environment for our patients, colleagues and visitors.

If you can work different shifts (including mornings, evenings and weekends) and want to show off your customer service skills, we would love to hear from you.

You will be fully supported and put through a thorough training programme with plenty of opportunities for development.

At present, the Trust is unable to offer Skilled Worker visa sponsorship for this post. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK at the time of application.

Main duties of the job

To assist in achieving and maintaining a clean hospital environment in accordance with the standards laid down in the Cleaner Hospitals and Infection Control guidelines.

To maintain the hospital environment as a whole, not just any area specified to work on as per rota, so that it supports the medical care and health improvement of all patients on site.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

NVQ2 in housekeeping, or a Level 2 apprenticeship, or demonstrable skills to this level with a willingness to undertake an apprenticeship at level 2 Basic IT skills or IT qualification Basic Maths and English

Desirable

A relevant vocational qualification in cleaning or facilities management is preferred (e.g, NVQ Level 2/3 in cleaning and support Services or similar qualification.)
