About this role

Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our team to undertake the role of the Therapies Hub Co-ordinator, based within the Therapies Hub at Newtown Hospital.

The post holder will require excellent communication skills, liaising with patients and clinicians over multiple channels e.g. telephone, email.

The post holder will work positively and flexibly to support the needs of the service, be motivated, ready for the next challenge and enjoy working as part of a very busy team.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide administrative support within the Therapies Hub, managing waiting lists, booking and sending out appointments for clinics, marking patients as attending / non-attending, chasing results and undertake audio typing for specialist clinics. The post holder will also provide a range of clerical duties as directed, provide support and cross cover within the department. Knowledge of WPAS is desirable and previous audio/touch typing experience is essential.

We would particularly welcome applications from Welsh speakers; but even if you don't speak any Welsh, or want to develop your skills, don't worry: the health board will support you with training.

Qualifications and/or Knowledge Essential

Educated to at least GCSE level, NVQ3 or equivalent RSA 3 or equivalent Audio typing

Experience Essential

Computer literate demonstrated by a working knowledge of computer skills, and Microsoft Office, with the ability to master new applications Experienced in touch typing Experience in audio typing

Aptitudes and Abilities Essential

Articulate with well-developed interpersonal skills Able to maintain confidentiality Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team Excellent IT skills Ability to understand complex situations and information Knowledge of range of secretarial procedures Knowledge of software programmes Ability to work to deadlines within minimal supervision Effective interpersonal and communication skills Ability to prioritise and time manage own workload
