Main duties of the job A Care Assistant at Avery Healthcare is dedicated to delivering high standards of personal care and contributes fully to the care team to ensure continuity of services for residents. Responsibilities include assisting residents with personal hygiene care while ensuring their independence and dignity. Care assistants are also responsible for recognizing and understanding clinical risk areas such as weight loss, pressure sores, or signs of infections and report these risks promptly. They must act courteously to residents and visitors, uphold the dignity and individuality of each resident, and practice safe systems of work across various tasks. Prior experience is not needed as Avery provides a thorough induction and training programme to build confidence in the role. Your focus as Care Assistant will be to deliver high standards of personal care, contributing fully to the care team to ensure continuity of services to residents.

Other responsibilities will include:

Assisting residents in all their personal hygiene care ensuring optimum independence, dignity and respect of individuals at all times.

Recognising and understanding clinical risk areas in residents such as weight loss, pressure sores, risk of falls, sign of infections and escalate any identified risks in a timely manner. Acting courteously towards residents and their visitors, respecting the dignity and individuality of each resident. Practicing safe systems of work across the range of task.

Have the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Demonstrate initiative and be respectful towards the residents and other people in the home. Be an efficient worker who can carry reasonable instructions from other team members. Be able to be adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.
