Job summary This is an exciting training opportunity for someone who is passionate about mental health and would like to develop a career as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner. You will undertake a professional training programme delivered by Newman University in Birmingham, whilst gaining valuable clinical experience within the service.
Main duties of the job Mental Health Matters (MHM) is committed to delivering high-quality mental health support to people in our local communities. As part of Staffordshire Talking Therapies, you will work alongside an experienced team delivering NHS Talking Therapies interventions to people experiencing common mental health difficulties, including depression and anxiety.

As part of your clinical practice, you will support the screening and triaging of referrals, conduct assessments and provide a combination of face-to-face and remote low-intensity interventions. You will receive comprehensive support throughout your training, including clinical and caseload supervision.
The training programme will consist of a minimum of 1 day of face-to-face university teaching, 1 day of self-directed study and 3 days of clinical practice each week.

Successful applicants will be required to commence service induction on Monday 25 January 2027, in preparation for the university course commencing on Wednesday 3 February 2027.
