Job summary
The Nelson Medical Practice is a dynamic forward thinking and friendly practice providing a high level of care and serving the community of Wimbledon and Raynes Park in SW London. An new exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time GP Assistant providing secretarial support working 37.5 hours per week working 9am - 5pm, Monday - Friday. You will work as an integral member of the Practice Team, providing high level support in administrative secretarial support to the GP's and other clinicians in the smooth running in the delivery of high quality patient care undertaking delegated duties in relation to the management of clinical correspondence, referrals, patient queries and other tasks that help improve the efficiency and release valuable clinical time. The post holder will work closely with GP's and clinicians and the wider practice team to ensure that patient receive high quality care.
Main duties of the job
The main duties and responsibilities of the role are:
Provide admin support to the GP's and other clinicians in the delivery of high quality patient care.To assist with the management of patient correspondence, clinical documentation and admin tasks, ensuring that work is completed accurately and within agreed timescales.To deal with patient and clinician queries relating to patient care, treatment, referrals and other matters, escalating queries appropriatelyTo undertake audio and non audio typing of letters, reports, referrals, forms and other clinical documentationTo answer telephone calls dealing with patient, clinical and external agency queries as appropriateTo support GP's and Clinicians with administration and coordination of patient care, in order to reduce their admin workload and improve clinical capacityTo process referrals and support the management of electronic referrals including booking, cancelling or changing appointments and referralsTo liaise with Hospital, community services and other external agencies in relation to patient referrals.
