We expect each Nurse (RNC/RNLD) to share our passion for providing compassionate, personalised, and expert care that truly makes a difference to children and their families.
As a Registered Childrens Nurse you will assess, implement and evaluate nursing care for children living with palliative and often complex health conditions. You will share our passion to provide excellent, personalised and compassionate care for children & their families. You will work flexibly over a 7-day period; this will include a combination of early, late, & night shifts.

As well as managing a wide range of complex conditions, you will help create precious memories through play, arts and crafts and new experiences; creating an environment where children are truly able to live life to the full. You will enjoy working as part of a close-knit team and have a positive, resilient attitude.
This exciting opportunity involves providing leadership opportunities and specialist clinical expertise. Providing a high standard of palliative nursing care through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care, you will support families in making the most of the time they have together.

Job description Job responsibilities As a Childrens Nurse, you will work both autonomously and collaboratively with the team assessing, planning and delivering high-quality palliative care.
You will: Coordinated holistic, individualised care for children with complex palliative health needs Support and guide families through emotionally challenging journeys Work closely with a multi-disciplinary team, contributing to care planning, clinical audits, service development, and safeguarding Supervise and support care staff, students, and newly qualified nurses and nurse associates Deliver nursing care that is clinically effective, evidence-based, and always centered on the childs needs and meet the Dougie Mac core values and NMC standards, either within the hospice building or in the community/family home Attend mandatory training for clinical competencies required for this role Ensure that all service user documentation is kept up to date in accordance with the Hospice policy, using the electronic patient record system To work as a role model within the team, motivating staff and setting an appropriate example Be responsible for your own professional development

Experience Essential
Experience of partnership working across agencies including social care, hospital and community, education and voluntary sector A good knowledge of the needs of children with life-limiting conditions Competent delivery of core nursing clinical skills (observations, clinical competence, empathy and compassion, critical thinking) Experience using electronic records systems An understanding of working with children with a learning disability or complex needs Experience of working in a skill mixed team
Desirable
Experience in hospice or palliative care setting An understanding of end-of-life care or child bereavement
