We are looking for a dedicated Clinical Support Worker to join our Urgent Treatment team, supporting the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care to individuals presenting with a wide range of urgent healthcare needs.
Working alongside nurses, doctors and the wider multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in ensuring patients receive safe, timely and effective care. This varied and rewarding role offers the opportunity to develop your clinical skills while making a real difference to the patient experience.
The ideal candidate will be caring, adaptable and able to remain calm under pressure, with excellent communication skills and a commitment to providing outstanding care. Main duties of the job
Work in support of and under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) and the Advanced Nurse Practitioners ( ANPs ) providing nursing care and assistance to patients within defined parameters specified by the Registered Nurse.
Record patient information.
Provide basic patient care and document that care in the patient records.
Clinical observations
Minor injury treatments and plaster casts
Wound care
Arranging follow up appointments
About us
We operate from three main hospitals - Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community health care premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.
WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
