About this role

Job summary

To be responsible and accountable for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of evidence-based, person-specific, and family-centred nursing care. The post holder will also assist in the necessary management and organisation of nursing work associated with care quality improvement and assurance.

Main duties of the job

Maintain a high standard of patient focused care in accordance with Calderdale & Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust policies and procedures Maintain a safe and clean working environment Provide assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care for patients, ensuring accurate written records are kept. Communicate with patients and carers to ensure they have access to appropriate information. Promote and maintain positive relationships between all staff involved in the care of the patient Act in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council Code of ConductUndertake duties on different wards/departments as and when required by service demands Demonstrate personal responsibility for compliance with infection control policies and procedures. There will be a requirement for on-call commitments in Endoscopy.

Person Specification

QUALIFICATIONS / TRAINING Essential

NMC Registered Nurse in relevant field of practice (or within 6 months of completing a validated BSc or MSc course, resulting in NMC registration) Practice Assessor/Practice Supervisor qualification or willingness to complete

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & EXPERTISE Essential

Knowledge and skill to plan, deliver, and evaluate high quality, evidence-based nursing care to a group of patients within the speciality of the post Experience of working with patients, and those that matter to them, from a range of diverse cultures and backgrounds Experience of working as part of a team, with the ability to prioritise own workload. Knowledge and skill in infection prevention and control principles and procedures Knowledge and skill in safeguarding principles and procedures IT literacy and ability to use NHS systems Competence in speciality or role specific extended skills required of the post or willingness to undertake necessary training. Experience of care delivery in an NHS setting, either as a registered nurse or student nurse on placement.
