We are looking to recruit a pharmacist with excellent customer service skills, who is looking for a new challenge in a hospital Outpatient setting. This role will provide an opportunity to work closely with a wider multidisciplinary Team and gain unmatched hospital experience, with the opportunity to enhance their clinical skills. The candidate will also have the opportunity to utilise their patient-focused community pharmacy skills in a busy dispensing environment.
The post holder will be the Responsible Pharmacist who will complete day-to-day operational tasks and will work alongside the senior Pharmacy team, including the Superintendent Pharmacist and other Pharmacists in developing and delivering innovative services to provide an excellent patient experience.
Main duties of the job
? Will be the Responsible Pharmacist for the Outpatient pharmacy.
? Responsible for clinical screening and checking of all outpatient prescriptions.
? Responsible for the day-to-day activities connected with the dispensing supply, ordering and receipt of medicines.
? Providing clinical advice to patients and other healthcare professionals.
? Provide advice to patients on the use of medicines and general health and lifestyle matters within their capability.
? Liaise with the wider MDT to optimise all patients' health.
? Supervise and manage all the dispensing staff, including day-today operations.
? Adhere to all safe and legal practices within the Pharmacy
Support Pharmacy based training for all staff members.

This pharmacy is run by Buckinghamshire Health Projects Ltd (BHPL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust. Pharmacy@Bucks provides dispensing services from outpatient's prescriptions issued by BHT and advice to BHT staff and visitors, with the option to provide OTC medicines in the near future.

Education, Professional Qualifications & Training Essential
Master's degree in pharmacy or equivalent Registration as a pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council Member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society
Desirable
Appropriate short management courses
Experience Essential
Post-registration experience as a Responsible pharmacist in a busy community Pharmacy or a hospital pharmacy. Newly qualified successful applicants will be given extensive on the job training Experience as a qualified pharmacist in various settings and roles including day to day management of a pharmacy Experience in delivering training and education for other pharmacy staff Experience in managing a team in a busy dispensing environment. Have extensive skills in counselling patients and representatives
Desirable
Experience in an Outpatient hospital pharmacy Experience of being a part of a vibrant team in developing a business or new service Experience in providing pharmacy services through PGDs such as influenza vaccinations or Pharmacy First etc
Information Technology Essential
Excellent ability in using basic Microsoft Office applications including Microsoft Word and Excel.
Desirable
Experience in using the JAC medicine management system.
Knowledge Essential
Understanding of local Trust and national Guidelines. Extensive knowledge of the legislation and guidance relating to the management of medicines

Understanding of Primary and Secondary Care prescribing principles. oBe able to utilise the local Trust Formulary and use this to make a clinical decision.
