Job SummaryThe primary purpose of the Medical Management Specialist (OIC Compliance Officer) position is to provide leadership, strategic direction, and oversight of the compliance activities for the medical facility and to ensure a standardized and effective approach to compliance using the compliance framework, compliance and integrity standards, processes, and resources set forth under the compliance program national guidelines.
QualificationsTo qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 08/31/2026. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-12 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-11. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment. You may qualify based on your experience as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-11 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Major DutiesMajor duties include but are not limited to: Develop, recommend and implement Compliance and Integrity program goals for operational units within the local health care system Review programs/projects to determine how they can be accomplished with the least disruption to workers and mission operations and ensure directions and schedules are accomplished in a timely manner Provide local health care system and Veterans Integrated Services Network (VISN) senior executives and executive committees regular reporting on implementation and effectiveness of the local health care system's Compliance and Integrity program and communicate timely on an ad hoc basis any urgent and significant compliance or business integrity issues Exercise oversight of implementation of the Compliance and Integrity program within the local health care system to ensure it is effective Establish and maintain the "tone at the top" within the local health care system for Compliance and Integrity, including but not limited to, providing regular communications to local health care system staff on the importance of Compliance and Integrity Work Schedule: 8:00am to 4:30pm M-F Position Description/PD#: Medical Management Specialist (OIC Compliance Officer)/PD99467SRequirementsYou must be a U.S. Citizen to apply for this job To be considered for this position, you must complete all required steps in the process.
