Job SummaryThis position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command. It is in the Professional Work Category at the Senior Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA-DISA-Pacific(PCJ).

QualificationsIn order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below. Basic Requirements: Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- electrical or electronic engineering, mathematics, physics, public utilities, statistics, computer science, telecommunications management, information systems management, business administration, industrial management, or other fields related to the position to be filled. Other Education: Communications/electronics or automatic data processing training in technical institutes or business schools above the high school level or in Armed Forces schools that included advanced instruction in addition to basic courses, may be substituted for general experience on a month-for-month basis. Qualifying Experience: To qualify at the GG-13, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service. For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: expertise in network operations, incident response, and enterprise services. Including IP/MPLS, satellite systems, and boundary services, with the ability to provide authoritative advice on complex issues. Perform on-site troubleshooting and fault isolation, developing and validating multi-layered communications architectures, and ensure the interoperability of joint and coalition information systems. Candidates must describe how they meet the qualifying experience and/or selective placement factor(s) within the body of their resume. Major DutiesServe as the forward representative, providing local visibility of network performance, performing on-site troubleshooting, restoration, and synchronizing incident response efforts such as between the RNOSC, DISA, and mission partners.Act as the forward technical expert for Mission Partner Environment (MPE) and coalition C4 systems, ensuring the interoperability and availability of joint and coalition communication capabilities.Develop, validate, and operationalize primary, alternate, contingency, and emergency (PACE) communications architectures to ensure continuity of operations in degraded, denied, or contested environments.Function as the primary technical liaison between DISA field offices and mission partners, translating operational requirements into actionable technical solutions and providing clear updates to leadership during incidents, exercises, and operations.Assess critical infrastructure dependencies (e.g., power, HVAC, transport), identify risks to resiliency and cybersecurity posture, and support commissioning and evaluation programs to ensure systems are ready for enterprise integration.
