Job SummaryAbout the Position: This position is located at Naval Health Clinic Charleston. Incumbent serves as a Financial Technician for a Defense Health Agency (DHA) Medical Treatment Facility (MTF). This is a Direct Hire Solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes reviewing financial documents for accuracy; utilizing automated accounting systems to enter and retrieve financial data; and assisting with budget formulation and/or purchasing. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
Major DutiesSupports budget formulation and execution, including maintaining ledgers and consolidating funding data.Compiles data to prepare financial statements, schedules, and comparative analyses.Examines and verifies a wide variety of transactions affecting pay authorizations and deductions for accuracy, authority, and regulatory compliance.Purchases commercial goods, specialized medical/dental equipment, and technical services up to micro-purchase limits.Examines financial and operational documents for mathematical accuracy, documentation adequacy, and regulatory compliance.Coordinates locate and resolve accounting transaction errors across utilized databases and automated financial systems.
