Job SummaryThis is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Wokrforce, to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serves as a Credentials File Manager at a Medical Treatment Facility. Incumbent is responsible for implementing a credentials and privileging program designed to ensure compliance with applicable guidelines.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Reviewing records and applications to establish privileges for healthcare providers; 2) Interpreting and researching various laws, licensing regulations and directives relevant to the credentialing and privileging program within a medical treatment facility; AND 3) Providing management with consultative support regarding technical aspects of credentialing and privileging issues and technicalities. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Major DutiesManaging the credentialing and privileging process for healthcare providers in accordance with DHA, TJC, and regulatory requirements.Verifying provider qualifications, licensure, certifications, education, training, and professional experience.Managing provider onboarding, appointment, reappointment, and clinical privileging actions.Coordinating Credentials Committee and Medical Executive Committee actions and maintaining official medical staff records.Monitoring ongoing provider compliance, including licensure, certifications, and required documentation.Providing guidance to providers and leadership on credentialing and privileging policies and procedures.Ensuring compliance with accreditation standards, regulatory requirements, and Medical Staff Bylaws related to credentialing and privileging.
