Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Ability to lead and train three or more workers to accomplish Animal Caretaker assignments. Must have experience caring for pets such as cats and dogs in a kennel like environment; to include but not limited to providing food and water, handling, walking and supervising animals when out of their kennels. Experience bathing, brushing and trimming nails of animals. Experience administering oral, topical, intranasal and subcutaneous medications. Experience monitoring animals' health for any changes or concerns. Must be able to collect fees for service and perform related administrative duties.
Major DutiesAs a working leader, performs the following types of duties: Provides day-to-day advice and guidance to employees for work assignments; relays instructions from the supervisor for work assignments; gets the work started and sets the work pace; demonstrates work methods and provides work-related guidance; ensures that the worksite materials and tools are available; and ensures that employees follow security, safety and housekeeping rules. Responsible for the care of dogs and cats staying at Karing Kennels to include but not limited to providing food and water, handling, walking and supervising animals when out of their kennels. Will be responsible for bathing, brushing and trimming nails of animals as needed. Will administer oral, topical, intranasal and subcutaneous medications as required. Monitors animals health and alerts manager if there are any changes or concerns. Responsible for keeping all areas of the building clean (vacuums, dusts, mops and sanitize) to include but not limited to hallways, kennels and yards. Will wash bedding, blankets and towels as needed. Responsible for cleaning up urine, feces, and vomit inside and outside. Maintains animal records, aids in checking pets in and out of the facility when needed as well as maintains a daily check list for each pet. May transport animals to/from veterinary appointments. Performs related administrative duties such as inputting daily data into computer, noting animal actions, completing control forms, listing medications, etc. Collects fees for service and performs related administrative duties.
