As a Capital Risk Analyst in Capital Risk Management, you help us monitor, analyze, and report capital risk across the firm. You work with us to drive process improvements, leverage new technologies, and support senior management with actionable insights. You collaborate with key stakeholders and contribute to a resilient, innovative team. You play a vital role in keeping JPMorgan Chase strong and adaptable.
Job responsibilities:
Monitor regulatory capital metrics against risk limits and indicatorsEnsure accuracy of capital metrics and escalate breaches as neededDrive process improvements and develop new analytical capacities using AI and LLMAnalyze variances in capital metrics such as Risk Weighted Assets, Leverage Exposure, CET1, Tier 1, Total Capital, TLAC, and LTD capitalIndependently assess and challenge capital management activities including forecasts, actions, optimizations, targets, allocations, and stress-test scenariosConduct deep dives on regulatory changes, risk, balance sheet, and market dynamics; present findings to senior managementPrepare board-level analysis and presentations for executive forumsMonitor current and emerging risks across asset classesStay up-to-date with market news, regulations, and peer bank activityInteract frequently with capital management, capital P&A, line of businesses, controllers, and support functionsManage processes with superior attention to detail Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
Experience in capital, liquidity, market risk, or related areas; Treasury or Finance background consideredAdvanced degree in Finance, Mathematics, Financial Engineering, or related quantitative disciplineDemonstrated proficiency in LLM, Python, Tableau, Snowflake, Databricks, SQL, or dashboard buildingAbility to quickly grasp new concepts and assess risks to capital positionStrong knowledge of financial markets and asset classesUnderstanding of balance sheet and income statement fundamentalsExperienced in data-driven storytelling via PowerPoint and ExcelExcellent oral and written communication skillsStrong analytical skills with ability to develop thesis and present ideasHigh ownership, self-starter attitude, ability to work independently and prioritize tasksSuperior attention to detail and process management Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
Certification or enrollment in CFA or FRM programsExperience with capital risk metrics, limit setting, and breach reportingFamiliarity with capital management activities and contingency planningAbility to conduct independent review of regulatory capital complianceExperience presenting findings to senior or executive managementKnowledge of stress-testing and scenario analysisAdvanced skills in automation and process improvement
