Job Summary:
Completes preventative maintenance and/or basic repair activities on engines and related components at the customer site with minimal direction.
We are looking for a talented Field Service Diesel Technician to join our Distribution business in (Elko, NV.).

Complete repairs on engine products in a service shopPerform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic toolsMaintain detailed records of serviced vehiclesAdhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policiesOngoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins productsMaintain own tools In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:
Primarily engaged in maintenance or basic repairs/diagnosticsRequires direct supervision and review of workmanship qualityDemonstrates an understanding on access to engine repair process information sources.Understands after-treatment system and can identify major components and their function at a rudimentary level.Has worked on external components on a diesel engine and understands the basic concepts.Has some knowledge of engine diagnostic softwareActive daily participation in safety processesThorough documentation of repairs including recording unit information and detailed repair/troubleshooting steps as necessaryWorking nonstandard shifts occasionally in support of business needs(nights/weekends)Timely submission of service documentation.Working rotating shift schedules in support of mining customerFrequent communication with customers and supervisors when working remotelyIndependent management/reconciliation of compony issued credit cardsProactive scheduling of PTO/time offFlexibility in short notice scheduling changes including out-of-down assignmentsAttention to clean work habits at the end of shift and throughout the shiftComplying with federal DOT laws while operating company vehicles - including ELD devicesProfessionally communicating/representing Cummins to the customerComplying with management directives as needed in support of business operations.A current valid license is required for this roleThis role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violationsThis role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical3 years driving experienceThis role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use -Federal law requires operators of commercial vehicles to be 21 years of age or older, applicant must be 21 years of age
A CDL may be required to obtain upon hireFederal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older Education, Licenses, Certifications:
Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred).
Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution.
Locally valid driving permit.
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience:
Minimal level of workshop related experience required.
Basic level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products.
Locally valid driving permit.

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
