Position Overview

Our team is reimagining how customers connect design, make, and operate workflows into a continuous value cycle. As a Senior Industry Manager for Production Environments, you will lead strategy for a significant industrial operations domain or opportunity, helping manufacturers, distributors, process facilities, and other asset-intensive organizations become more connected, efficient, and resilient.

This role sits at the intersection of industry expertise, market strategy, and technology innovation. You will combine deep understanding of customer workflows with market and competitive insight to identify opportunities, shape strategic choices, influence product, portfolio, investment, and go-to-market priorities, and help move high-value initiatives into action. You will work across Product, Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Finance, and partner teams, and engage directly with customers and the broader industry ecosystem.

Responsibilities

Shape Industry and Market Strategy

Develop a clear, evidence-based perspective on how production environments are evolving, grounded in customer workflows, business priorities, market dynamics, and technology changeCollect and synthesize customer, market, and competitive insights to identify patterns, challenge assumptions, and reveal meaningful opportunities for AutodeskFrame and evaluate strategic opportunities, bringing clarity to customer value, market potential, differentiation, trade-offs, and measures of successShape market strategy and positioning for priority opportunities, defining where Autodesk can win and recommending where to focus, invest, partner, or sequence activity Influence Product, Portfolio, and Investment Direction

Translate industry opportunities into clear implications for Autodesk's product, platform, partnership, and portfolio prioritiesDevelop credible recommendations that clarify customer value, strategic fit, capability needs, dependencies, risks, and expected outcomesInfluence roadmap and investment decisions across relevant teams by clarifying strategic value, capability requirements, dependencies, risks, and trade-offs Engage Customers and the Industry Ecosystem

Build trusted relationships with customers, industry leaders, partners, analysts, and associations to deepen Autodesk's understanding and strengthen its strategic directionLead high-value customer and industry engagements that test ideas, surface emerging needs, and advance priority opportunitiesRepresent Autodesk as a credible industry voice and trusted advisor in important conversations about connected production environmentsUse external engagement to strengthen Autodesk's market perspective, positioning, and ecosystem relationships Align Teams and Move Strategy into Action

Create compelling narratives and recommendations that make complex industry choices clear, relevant, and actionable for senior audiencesLead through influence, aligning cross-functional stakeholders around strategic priorities, trade-offs, and decisionsGuide material strategic initiatives from insight through decision and early execution, using outcomes and new evidence to refine direction Minimum Qualifications

8+ years of relevant experience in industrial operations, product strategy, market strategy, consulting, enterprise technology, or transformation, or equivalent practical experienceStrong knowledge of production environments and the workflows, business priorities, and technologies that shape themExperience developing market, product, business, or transformation strategies using customer research, market intelligence, competitive analysis, and market sizingDemonstrated ability to influence strategic priorities and decisions across cross-functional teamsExperience engaging senior customer leadership, partners, and industry stakeholdersStrong communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to make complex topics clear and compellingExperience leading strategic initiatives in a matrixed organizationAbility to travel approximately 25-30% Preferred Qualifications

Experience in manufacturing, process industries, warehousing and distribution, or other asset-intensive production environmentsFamiliarity with industrial systems and technologies such as MES, ERP/MRP, SCADA, IIoT, digital twins, or operational analyticsExperience with enterprise software, platforms, ecosystems, or digital transformationExperience influencing product strategy, market positioning, partnerships, or technology roadmapsEstablished relationships within relevant customer, partner, or industry communities Ideal Candidate

Salary transparency Salary is one part of Autodesk's competitive compensation package. For Germany based roles, we expect a starting base salary between 73,000 EUR and 106,700 EUR. Offers are based on the candidate's experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, our compensation package may include annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
